1."John Doe" signs up and picks four drivers: Mears, Unser, Rahal, and Rutherford. The total price of these drivers is $29.90 million which is under the $30 million salary cap.
2. The day before the first race of the season, John hears that one of his drivers, (ex. Unser), qualified in last place. So John trades Unser for another driver, Foyt Sr., without using one of his eight trades since all teams have unlimited trades up to one hour before the first race of the season.
3. After week one, John's four drivers earned fantasy points based on the official driver points from the Indycar Racing League: Example-Mears (1st place) 50 points -Rahal (5th place) 30 points -Rutherford (9th place) 22 points -Foyt Sr. (12th place) 18 points
4. John's fantasy team earned a total of 120 points for week one.
5. John can now use his eight trades throughout the rest of the season in case some of his drivers fail to qualify for races or some of his drivers qualify or practice poorly.
